What do I need to check if this is the case, please? Are we talking about the 192.168 ip address, or the one displayed on whatismyipaddress.com? thanks.

A clash of IP addresses will be to do with your LAN (i.e. 192.168.0.?).

Hi Scubbie, thanks for the reply.
I thought the router automatically assigned IP addresses? (DHCP?)

I have checked all 3 laptops that use the router, and the printer and linkstation and they all appear to be different.

Re: Full wireless connection but no internet

The only way to help trace this issue would be to identify the assigned IP addresses at the time of the problem.

Run 'ipconfig' to see what the IP addresses are at the time. Also look at the main router and see what is listed in the 'Attached Devices' page.

One potential cause may be that the LAN printer may benefit from having a fixed IP address. If you did this, then knowing that you have the 2nd router assigned to 192.168.0.250, I would set the printer to 192.168.0.249.

Also check that the DHCP server is disabled in the second router. If its not, you will get IP conflicts. Check that the OH's machine is set to 'Obtain an IP address automatically'.

Re: Full wireless connection but no internet

Have tried all the above checks and the line seems ok. The printers ip was changed as suggested, but things just kept getting curiouser. the last few days if a laptop was connected to router one and working fine, as soon as anyone accessed router 2 the signal to router one cut off and the router stats page appeared. So today we decided to start from scratch so disconnected the cable connecting the 2 routers. There was no way to get online from router one despite showing full signal. So we plugged router 2 back into router one and this is the same. Despite hours trying to get at least 1 router working no joy. The only access I have is my iphone!!! So I am desperately seeking advice just to reinstate at least one working router. Is there a way to reset both routers so that I can start from scratch again? Thanks for your patience.

Re: Full wireless connection but no internet

I am now online at my daughters so can post!!! Both my routers appear to have lost their ip addresses according to the network pages on win 7 and lion os x. Having read up on this all morning would it be worth unplugging both overnight as resetting isn't working? Thanks.

Re: Full wireless connection but no internet

I am a little puzzled as to why this isn't working now.

Having gone through all the settings with you previously, it should work just fine.

Perhaps you could change the SSID on the 2nd router to something else to see if this helps..

The SSID (network name) can be anything you like, but I would advise against using the family name or your house number.
