      Broadband speed estimate accuracy?

After having a new phone line installed last week, ADSL was activated earlier today and as far as I can tell, I'm in a DLM testing phase. (Starting at 4096k down.)

Having looked into the emails I got from Sky when I placed the order, they're estimating that I should be able to get speeds of around 6.5Mbit. However, given my distance from the exchange and that it's an LLU ADSL2+ supported exchange (Norwich City), that seems a little low - shouldn't I be able to get 16Mbit+?

      Stats:
      Line attenuation: 12.5 dB
      Noise margin: 20.6 dB

So while I'm still in the testing phase, my question would be how accurate is Sky's original estimate of 6.5Mbit likely to be? Am I missing something, or after DLM is done shouldn't I be looking at closer to 16Mbit given my exchange and line attenuation?

Not accurate at all. If these are downstream figures, you should get pretty near the full 20Mb

Yep, they're the downstream figures. Thanks!
