      Broadband Surcharge? What is it for?

      I am looking into getting BB Unlimited and Talk but upon putting it through online - it shows this in the basket:

      Broadband Unlimited 7.50 Monthly

      Save 2.50 per month on your broadband when you add a Sky TV package
      Remove from basket Talk Freetime FREE

      You are saving 5 per month by taking Sky Broadband Unlimited with Sky Talk
      Sky Line Rental 6.25 Monthly
      6 Months Half Price
      Broadband Surcharge 2.50 Monthly
      Broadband Activation Fee 25 One-off
      My question is, I am meant to be saving 5 per month for having both BB and Talk, but then what is the 'Broadband Surcharge' for? Since this is for 2.50, I feel the advertised "Save 5 on Sky Broadband Everyday Lite or Unlimited with this Sky Talk calls package" is misleading as I am actually only saving 2.50

      Any one know what the surcharge is for and why I have it?

      Cheers

      It's for not having Sky TV.

      The discounts are
      TV = 2.50
      Talk=5.00
      TV & Talk 7.50.

      For some reason they are showing it as a surcharge on the lowest price, rather than a discount on the higher price.

      Exdee/isitme - Thank you for your replies I now understand why it was shown as a surcharge not bothered about TV so the extra 2.50 isnt too bad considering how much SkyTV/TV licence costs per month

      Re: Broadband Surcharge? What is it for?

      You were quite right to be confused, the way they have worded that it looks like Broadband costs 7.50 with a discount of 2.50 for TV and a further discount of 5 for the Talk. It doesn't of course.

      It would make more sense if they started with the full price of 15 then showed the discounts, but some high paid consultant has probably decided it looks better starting with the lowest price
