fresh bt line following house move, no previous broadband at this property confirmed by landlord. In desperate need of broadband for work purposes and personal (run own website with forums etc).

Sky's response is if you have pre-registered you will get information, they have confirmed I can only get the 17 package, no prob with that just activate the line and give me my darn router !!!

Ideas, quick routes or general advise would be welcome....

That was not signing up that was registering your interest you need to actually get an invite email first then you can register for SkyBB and then it should only take a few weeks to be completed but there are a lot of members who have taken a lot longer and some even longer still.

As you can only get the Connect package you will probably be ok.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

Thank you for registering your interest in Sky Broadband.

Currently, our Base, Mid, Max products are not available in your area, but we will be offering Sky Broadband Connect, with up to 8Mb speeds, and a huge 40GB monthly usage allowance. At only 17 a month, Connect costs less than the equivalent BT package. We'll let you know when Connect is ready to buy.

Since Sky Broadband has been designed especially for Sky TV customers, you will first need to join Sky TV. Just go to www.sky.com.

We are working to ensure Sky Broadband Connect is available to you as soon as possible. Naturally, demand is high, but we’re doing all we can to bring Sky Broadband to you without too much delay.

We'll continue to keep you fully up to speed with our progress in your area. Simply keep an eye out for further emails from us.

      Regards

      Samantha Beresford

Ugh called up on (0870) 5515515 and was told to allow up to 1 month to get unique reference by post, he originally said 4 months then apologised saying he meant 4 weeks ha ha ha as there has been high demand in my area (high demand everywhere i thought).

      So the wait continues

I would advise you to look for other providers, Sky sucks. I cancelled my contract with Orange to move to Sky, and after getting the router & being activated, still offline for over a month, one issue after the other, they don't even give you a straight answer to contact you with an update. Scroll through the various posts on this site, nothing but disappointed customers getting no help or any kind of acceptable customer service. If you turn out to be lucky and it works out, great, but if not, you'll be offline forever and like many others on this site waiting in vain for something to get resolved.

I have now been told the unique sales reference would be sent via email not post, but would be 7-14 days to get this, then another 7-14 days to get the modem.

My USR or URN was sent via email and post! Yet either way the URN is the same!
