Uploading throttles my connection. If I upload to any video sharing site or email I can't browse.

It's also affecting online gaming due to the amount of uploading involved.,. Every single game I play online is horrendously laggy -- beyond unplayable

Is there anything I can do?

You need a router with QoS which will prioritise bandwidth to those apps that need it.

Alternative schedule or kick off the upload when you aren't using the connection for anything else.

You might want to take a look at cFosSpeed... much cheaper than a new router

Are you even on Sky or have you moved onto a proper ISP?
