    Moved from o2 llu, now getting half the speed

      Moved from o2 llu, now getting half the speed

      Hi,

      Help please, can anyone tell me why i've gone from being able to download at around 980KB/sec on o2 llu to 400KB/sec on sky unlimited llu? As a previous sky user i'm quite bemused as last time I was with them I used to get around the aforementioned 980KB mark.

      I've checked my account in case they were doing line testing but it says not:

      "Your Connection Details

      Check back here for updates.

      Line testing is NOT currently in progress.

      We continually look at ways to improve the quality of your broadband connection."

      My line stats:




      What would be my next course of action?

      Just to add i've not physically moved house, nothing has changed barring the service provider via a mac code.

      Just a few fault finding questions if you don't mind.

      Are those stats from test socket?
      How many phone sockets on the same line as your broadband?

      The target noise margin for sky is 7 show it shows some play, and as it says that testing has finished normally a quick call to sky will resolve and bump up the speed.

      Read your welcome letter, you'll see the part about DLM and how you start at 4Mbps and increase over the first 10 days of your connection

      As previous poster says looks like DLM is in progress.

      Wait until the DLM process of 10 days is complete.
      If this is already happened or when this happens and the speeds are still under the predicted make contact with sky for this to be corrected.

      For a simple task of having your line reconfigure, this should only take 3-4 hours on the phone over a period of 1-2weeks. Enjoy.

      Cheers for the replies guys, I had thought it was the dlm taking place but when I logged in and it says it isn't being checked it threw me. Shall have to wait and see, please no four hours of customer services.......please......haha

      Yep it was dlm and the info on mysky was wrong. Nearly back to normal speed now.
