      Porr speed / Want to Cancel my BB

      Only just got sky BB..

      DLM started on 8th of this month.
      They only just updated mysky today to say that it finished on the 13th.

      In this time it never resynched once.

      The result is 3072kbps up and 700kbps down.

      49.5 db attenuation and noise margin of 10.4

      Gonna phone em up and moan now but unfortunately the 8 day cancellation has expired. ( I would have cancelled sooner if I knew DLM had finished )

      Are they likely to let me out of contract for sake of a few days ( I guess not )

      I need my BB for work, both me and the missus do a lot of work from home and this is a no go.

      Thanks for any advice all.

      P.S Already tried things such as removing ringwire, using master socket e.t.c

      Unfortunately reliance on Sky BB for work is not Sky faults as it's a consumer BB service, they won't let you out of contract on those grounds as their T&Cs don't allow work use. What was your estimated speed at point of sale?

      Also, post your full stats up and we'll see what can be done to sort thing out

      Fully aware i cant rely on it for work but its not come to that anyway.

      Phoned sky who said your 8 days cancellation are up.. I pointed out as it was distance selling (online) i am entitled by law to 14 days (checked with consumer rights first) which i am still within to which they put me on hold.

      2 mins later they come back and say "we can offer 5.8mbps on your line, is that ok.

      5 mins later my line is at 5mbps and slowly increasing every few mins...

      They dont have a clue do they.
      It does help that i worked on BT Broadband for a number of years so everytime they talked ****e I could put them in their place... they put me directly through to tier 3 no messing

      Seems like sky ignored to do DLM tho!

      If your upstream was at ~700kbps, then no they didn't.

      And tier 3 hasn't existed for years.
