      No connection to sky router

i know this has probably been asked before but this is really boggling have set up several wireless networks in the past and this is only one which has stomped me.

just moved house and now i got a dog need to move computer away from router so have decided to go wireless.

router is only couple of weeks old which exact model i dont know. anyway it works fine when wired up. but i cannot get a wireless signal at all even though the little wireless tree is green.

i have installed a belkin wireless N network card as my computer is now upstairs and router is downstairs but my computer cannot even find the router.

i have tried sitting next to the router with my iphone and it cant even properly connect to the wireless router with that.

      any ideas?

Has the router got a smooth Gery & Black case or a Grey case with dimples (like a golf ball)?

In this case you have the Sagemcom F@ST 2304n.

Please read through the thread shown below. There are some current tips to get the router working:

Re: No connection to sky router

Er, that's a picture of one of the older models, with the old style dimply case.

Sky are mostly sending out the new Sagem's 2304N with the new style smooth case now, but they are still shipping the odd D-link.

If it is a D-link, it will have the brand on the label on the bottom, and embossed into the top of the case.

If you would prefer to use a better ADSL router. If it is a D-link, then see my blog Mel's Notes: DSL2640S . For any other model go here:- https://www.cm9.net/skypass/

You may also be able to improve wireless reception a little by sitting the router vertically in its stand.

If you want to stay within the Sky T&C's Scubbie has written a guide on how to piggy back another router to use as a wireless access point.

*Scubbie walks over to wall and head-butts it (again).*

Sorry - I just saw the 1st photo. The dimples weren't clear in that one.
