      Anyone use Fileserve?

I'm sure Sky are throttling filehoster Fileserve.

I'm on Sky LLU and Downloads always start quick(over 1MB), but quickly dropoff to 50-60 KB/s after a few minutes.

There doesn't seem to be a general issue with Fileserve either.

I'm sure I noticed similar issues with Filesonic as well. I have a friend who lives down the road, he uses Fileserve certainly without the issues I have....

Have you got a premium account there? If you don't it's fileserve who is throttling your download. Not sky.

Sky do not throttle or limit their broadband, unless you are on Connect. To the best of my knowledge.

I really, really hope you're right and it's just Fileserve being naff. The only way I'll know is to subscribe to Filesonic and compare. All money though innit?

Sky Broadband Unlimited definitely does not cap Torrents or video streaming or another other known service.

I have a PC which is constantly dealing with torrents and the monthly usage varies between 300Gb to 600Gb.

Add to this another desktop, two laptops, Sky+ HD STB, and an Internet enabled TV.

The only items that Sky blocks are related to things such as Child Porn.

There are some services which the Sky routers don't fair too well with. These include things more related to a business environment than a domestic set up. VPN is one of those.

If you should use you own router though, this can be safely circumvented.

Traffic to filesonic.com is currently being routed to a Sky proxy - so presumably, one or more of their download URLs is on the IWF's blacklist (URL list of alleged criminally illegal content). This is quite likely to cause you problems with http access to that site.

At the time of this post, fileserve.com doesn't seem to be proxied though.

Fileserve isn't a torrent site, it's a file hosting site likle Rapidshare. Torrents download no issue.

24 x 7? I know that's difficult to ascertain, but mine runs at dreadful speeds of about 20KB/s at peak times - say 4pm to about 11pm. Overnight, it seems to go back to normal. No-one is reporting it though. It's not my PC, the laptop does it as well. It's not the software I use, as direct downloading from the website also causes it.

I appreciated that it isn't a torrent site. I was demonstrating with a known set of facts that Sky does not cap, traffic manage or throttle your connection on the Sky BB Unlimited package.
