New Sky user - Stats any good ?

Hi all I have been a sky BB user now for a whole 6 days. I was just wondering if these stats are any good for my line as I was with BT before. With BT my download speed was only about 2 meg but upload around 90kbps.

With Sky though my download speed seems to be better but my upload speed is a little pants, strugling to get upto 40 kbps some times.

Could anymore be done on the line do you think ?

Not good. You lost sync to the exchange 50ish minutes ago. How many sockets in total have you got in the house? Do you use all of these?

In total there must be 4 but we only use the 1.

Re: New Sky user - Stats any good ?

I use to have the homehub 3 with BT which was a great router but this one I got from Sky is rubbish.

I will have a connection and then I will loose the wireless and Anytime+. The router lights are all on ok but I got no internet so I have to restart the router.

Re: New Sky user - Stats any good ?

The fact that you have got a dodgy router makes it harder to analyse whether it is your router or your wiring that caused your connection to drop. As for your original query there is room for improving your upload speed. You can ring sky and ask them to uncap it.

Re: New Sky user - Stats any good ?

When with BT they moved me from ADSL to ADSL+ and with the homehub I never had any drop outs so cant be the wiring.

Do you think I should phone sky and ask them to change the router and uncap my speeds then ?

Many thanks for your quick replies

Sure you can try that. Chances are the replacement will be the same router.

Not directly since HH3 has not been hacked yet. However, you can connect the two routers together, disable wifi on the sky router and use the HH3 as an access point.

Re: New Sky user - Stats any good ?

Just phones Sky and now have to wait upto 4 days for a call back.... Shocking !!!

BT use to deal with it on the spot or possibly have to wait a day max. I think its the router as when I came home from work earlier I had a solid orange light on the router and had to restart it as I couldnt get any connection from it what so ever.
