      Broadband not connecting

      hi,

Just wondering if someone can help, sky have confirmed that my broadband has gone active today at 10am and when i have connected my router up its not connecting to the internet.

I have phoned sky back and they have advised that there isnt any problems and that i have to leave it a day or so to see if it comes on. They told me that the line can go active upto 12 o clock midnight as its an automated tranfser

My old provider was with bt infinity, could this be the problem as its going from cable to normal phone line or woundlt this affect it

Hope someone can help and advise what the problem can be

      Thanks

Would need a new phone line to use normal BB, would you not?

In theory it It can't be an automated process since an engineer needs to disconnect you from fibre in the cabinet and connect you back to the copper if you are to receive broadband on the same line.

Maybe it's a faulty router. You will probably have to ring them back after 12.

      Re: Broadband not connecting

With the Fibre, you also have a different Master Socket.

You may need to have the BTO engineer visit to replace the socket once more so that you have a 'normal' NTE5 socket.

...and just in case, don't plug the Sky Router into the socket used for the FTTC connection. It will need to plug into a Micro-Filter once more.
