      Thumbs up No sky broadband for 3 weeks

      Suddenly after 3 weeks my broadband connections died on me completely.
      After countless phone-calls, emails and a new router I have given up the will to live... Sky blame Bt. and Bt. blame sky!!

      The Internet light on my router just won't come on ... I've tried everything sky have told me to do ... Tried different plug sockets, changed microfilters ... But nothing seems to work. Sky now said they will get their engineers to check the line ... Bt says the line id fine But surely if it's the line is fine!

      Apart from leaving sky.. Does anyone have any ideas what it cld be ?

      If you have tried a new router with a new PSU, then it looks like ADSL is not present on your line. If you have run into a brick wall with Sky, all I can suggest is that you contact the executive trouble shooters by emailing jeremy.darrochatbskyb.com. Explain your problem and they will do something about it.

      If you've found no sync at the test socket with the new equipment, then you need to call Sky again to have it actioned to an Openreach special faults investigator. SFIs are booked when the line shows right when tested, so that's perhaps where the 'confusion' of BT suggesting the line is fine is coming from.

      Back on line at last.

      Took yr advice and emailed Jeremy Darroch and received a phone call within 24 hours from a guy called David Hunter at Sky.

      Apparently is was a problem their end, with the port and exchange that wasnt recognising my phone number...... had to wait another 12 hours for it to be resolved...and received another call to reset eveything.....and it worked straight away.

      He's phoning back next week to check everything is ok.....and promised a months free broadband for the inconvenience.

      I am glad you have been fixed up

      It is important to realise that you should only go down this route when all others are exhausted, as you did. Calling in the executive team for trivial complaints and wasting their time, I think will only make them reluctant to pursue real problems.
