      Broadband is incredibly slow. Please help.

      Afternoon.

      I really want to get my broadband running faster and i'm having no luck with sky's help centre.

      Actually browsing sites isnt too bad but when it comes to downloading files etc. It takes me forever.

      I'm currently connected to my test socket but it's made no difference at all.

      These are my current speeds that i got from 192.168.0.1

      Modem
      ADSL Firmware Version 7.03.01.66
      Modem Status Connected
      DownStream Connection Speed 342 kbps
      UpStream Connection Speed 796 kbps
      VPI 0
      VCI 38

      I've also tried swapping out the filters but had no joy with that either.

      Can somebody please try and help!!

      We need to see the stats - click 'show statistics' on the page where you got the information you included and paste in the stats.

      With a download sync of 342 kb, something is seriously wrong. When you take the stats as suggested by User05, use only the ADSL cable supplied by Sky to plug into your Test socket, do not use a trailing telephone extension.

      Is that from the Test socket using only the Sky ADSL cable. with no other extensions? Can you also check that any other phone extension you have, has no dial tone when the faceplate is removed from the master?
