Activation on 18th April - Still not connection

      Hi all,
I'd like to ask you if someone has already had my same experience.
The broadband activation date was on 18th of April. I called sky a lot of times since then, I followed all the instructions they gave me, but the green light @ is still off.
I have no problem with the phone line, it's working fine.

      Which could be the problem?

      thank you

Is the wireless light on the router green? Are you able to connect to the router?

Yes, the wireless light is green. On my laptop I can see the connection and I can connect to the router. But the green light @ is still off, so no internet.

How many telephone sockets do you use?
Is there a microfilter connected directly into each telephone socket in use, ensuring that nothing is before the filter?
Is the router connected to the master socket or an extension socket?
Are you using the short grey dsl cable that Sky provided, or running an extension telephone cable to the router?
Do you have Sky tv connected to any telephone sockets?
Do you have a test socket?

Re: Activation on 18th April - Still not connection

      Hi,
      -I use one telephone socket.
-The microfilter is connected into the telephone socket.
-The router is connected to the extension socket, but I've already tried to connect to the master but the problem is the same.
-I'm using the short grey dsl cable that Sky provided.
      -No sky TV.
-I don't have a test socket, but the socket works because the phone line is working well.

      Thanks

Re: Activation on 18th April - Still not connection

Even if the phone is working fine (dialling tone and no noise or issues to report), internal wiring could still be affecting bb sync.

      - Are you sure you don't have a test socket i.e. a nte5 such as below:

      - Is your router the Sagemcom f@st 2304N? (Will say on the sticker on the router).

      - When you say that you've tried the router at the master socket, was the set-up simply as follows:

master socket > microfilter > short grey dsl cable > router

If so, and you definitely don't have a test socket, then you need to contact Sky for further tests.

Re: Activation on 18th April - Still not connection

Thank you for your explanation. I'm waiting for a feedback from Sky...

yes, the router is the Sagemcom you said.
When I've tried the router at the master socket was set-up as you explained.

But I found a test socket in the living room that i've not noticed before. I've tried to connect the router there but everything is the same. Could I do something more?

      Thanks for your help

Re: Activation on 18th April - Still not connection

If you've tried both microfilters at the test socket with the cables supplied by Sky, and you're still not getting an 'internet' @ light, then your next action would be to call Sky. Make sure the router is connected to the test socket before you call as you'll be asked to do it during the call.

It'll take a few tests to find out where the fault lies (it'll likely need escalated for most of these tests, however).
