      btw i also know openreach replaced 1 of 2 cabs (3 now with the close by Fibre optic cab near by it) this week too is it possible something could have happened to it then?

      ok i've come to the concluestion that the router is also faulty as again with in 2 hours of just light browsing i had to restart it

      i can tell u tho that my noise margin always changes too

      Just rang sky they send my case to the CST as he believe there is a fault with my router and/or line

      its the router, got the same one and the same issue, having mine replaced in 10 days, as they have no stock. firmware is corrupt apparently. cs told me so themselves, she said they have had hundreds back recently. if your mac id starts with c8c then its an affected router

      well this is a turn up i'm back in the test socket and the router hasn't stopped once even on a heavy download 300meg so far can counting i wonder if it something to do with the faceplate or iplate

      i'm wondering if the router has a built in filter that the iplate is doing and because of the double filter it causing a crash

      The iPlate filters the ring wire, the router does not do this. It may however be your phone extensions, if you have any, these can cause problems with broadband. If it works OK in the Test socket and not on the faceplate, that is probably the problem. For this reason a filtered faceplate is a far better purchase than an iPlate.

      There is a good chance the problems are all down to a duff router.
