Thumbs down Please help! 0.5 mbps! sagem

I use the sagem router and have unlimited broadband. I already permanently use the master test port as it gives higher speed of approx 3.5 Mbps. My speed dropped to 0.5 (via speedtest.net) Mbps on Sat/Sun both wired and wireless. My router states 4mbps downstream (which would suggest my switch/port in my house is not faulty).

I reset my router yesterday as suggested by sky and the speed went up to 3.5 mbps (as was before this weekend) wired/wireless.

Last night it dropped to 1.0 Mbps, today it is back to 0.5 wireless (measured by my laptop, and 2 seperate iphones when laptop off so its not a laptop issue).

I have reconfigured "securely" (dont broadcast, changes passwords, access control etc) so no one can be using my bandwith.

I did change the encryption to WPA2 AES on the router after seeing the improvement but cant see this being the issue.

Suggests a faulty router to me? any other ideas

Nobody can say anything until you post your stats. Guessing at what could be wrong would be pointless.
