      Re: website

      Very strange.

I've just connected my Laptop to a 3G dongle & accessed the forum immediately via IE8.

Tried the same link from my desktop (connecting via Sky BB) and it failed.

I was using the laptop earlier when I tried, but via Sky BB then.

I've seen something similar when a site changed servers and the DNS wasn't updated, but a DNS flush was required to resolved the issue.

In this instance neither PC had ever accessed the site before, so no flushing of the DNS on the Laptop or Desktop would be required.

Leaves me to conclude that the Sky DNS servers are slow to update.

Indeed it would, seems it's something between the forum host and Sky. Peering issue, perhaps?

Did you say you've been in touch with your host? Might be easier to get them to contact Sky regarding it

I was composing the post when yours went up. I didn't edit as it seemed to confirm what you had posted.

seems like that, im confused as to how Opera works????
I know when your network is classed as slow you can opt to go into a special mode for slow networks whereby they access the site, compress it and send it your browser which decompresses it and displays it, but usually reserved for Dial-Up connections and the like - I do remember once when I used it on my 16Mbps connection it came up "your network is slow do you want to use speed up" and i chose no but was confused to why it come up anyway?

i BET thomas has that enabled on opera and thats how he gets it through that?
