      Connection dropping

my connection has started to drop everytime the wife makes a phone call, on the second line we have in the house; we have 2 lines one is our line( phone and bband), the other the wifes place of work put in for her approx. 2 yrs ago, this line runs her bband/ phone/fax machine, my question is, is this possible i.e cause my bband to drop, i know this becuase i have routerstats- lite running and she made a call causing my connection to drop.

      Re: Connection dropping

Does a call on your line effect her broadband? If it has just started it could be a faulty phone, can you try another phone on her line? If it has been going on for a while, then it may be a split pair on the phone lines.

      Re: Connection dropping

ok update, i have been having good connection for between 3-5 days, my router is connected to master socket, using adsl filterplate, also purchased decent quality cable to run from there to my router, but my router still reboots after a few days of solid uptime, at first i thought was cos im on a long line, but now not so sure, posted below are my stats, there is no difference between master and test socket stats. either have ran quiet line test using corded phone, thats clear as well, now thinking maybe my router, im using DLink router on firmware sky1_11.

I think there is an update for this firmware, which may improve your connection. It will probably come down in due course.

One word of advice, if you have not already obtained your password, get it now before the software updates. I know you may not want to use another router now, but you may do in the future. Have a look here for how to,-

I think you just have to wait for it. You can try phoning, but it will depend on who you get as to what joy you get.
