Previously it wasn't but now It is possible to get just broadband from sky.

The account holder has to ring in to downgrade.

      30 days notice required.

You WILL need a telephone connection if you wish to have Sky BB.

No ADSL based BB supplier will provide BB without a telephone connection.

It is possible to subscribe to BT for the telephone rental, but this would work out more expensive.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

      Yes. It it possible.
Sorry about the typo in my previous post. Just noticed it.

Your mom has to ring in to downgrade. (Any female will do as long as you know the pass on the account)

Oh and as Scubbie rightfully pointed out. You have to ascertain who you pay your line rental too first.

If you pay your line rental to BT just ring sky and tell them you want to get rid of everything apart from broadband.

On the other hand, if you pay your line rental to sky make sure you mention that you want to keep your line rental and broadband .

Perhaps we should mention that it would work out cheaper to keep Sky Talk & Sky BB rather than have the line rental with BT?

ok thanks so much guys! you've been great! Will look at the BB with phone deal then rather then having phone for another company. if it works out cheaper.

But I think it was the phone bill that was pushing the price up alot even though we use the phone about 1 - 2 a day if that, but get alot of calls.

      Will look into it!

      Thanks again!

Re: Sky TV, Sky Talk, Sky broadband. too just Broadband

Look at the type of phone calls that are made.

Avoid making calls to mobiles on anything other than another mobile.

Any calls to 01, 02 & 03 numbers could be free during the day if you pay an additional 5 per month. That is provided that you hangup after 59mins, as when the call goes on for more than 60mins, the additional minutes become chargeable.

If it was yourself making all the calls, then I would strongly suggest that you look at earning some cash legitimately.

If the calls are to regular friends who also have computers, another solution is to install & use Skype too. There are no time constraints with Skype and the calls from PC to PC or 3 mobile (using the Skype account) are all free. Other companies now have Skype on their phone, but any Internet access may be charged extra for.

Re: Sky TV, Sky Talk, Sky broadband. too just Broadband

I was just going by the requirement. Just to make things clearer:

Sky Broadband Unlimited will cost you 15 quid

      and

Sky Broadband Unlimited with Talk Unlimited will also cost you 15 quid

If you are concerned about over spending on your talk package you can set a limit on your account. Set it to zero and you will never get charged more than 15 quid.

Sky has cheaper line rental than BT. However some are of the opinion it's better to keep your line rental with BT.
