      CNET Podcast downloads excruciatingly slow

Since about mid last week, all the CNET (www.cnet.com) podcasts, and downloads from CNET in general, have dramatically dropped in speed from a few hundred K a second to a few K a second.

In iTunes, my cNet podcast BUZZ OUT LOUD! times out repeatedly, and when I download it via a download manager, I get barely 1.8k a second, if that.

However, when I switch to another ISP (via wireless networking) it speeds down at normal speed without issue.

This MUST be a Sky/Easynet routing issue. No other site is affected.

Does anyone else have the same issue?
Try downloading an MP3 Podcast from here:bol.cnet.com

(I am on Sky MAX Unlimited)

just tested this, and i get 1.5k on sky connection.

      420k using another connection.

also i can get about 400k downloading that file using a proxy.

I'm getting the same.. I use a mac at home and I get crappy speeds downloading the podcast ether through itunes or directly from the site. Funny thing is I have windows running through a Virtual machine on my mac and the download speed on that is fine..?!

pinging the podcast download site I'm getting a 50-60% packet loss. Maybe one of C-nets routers it blocking sky's IP range?

Just rang SKY and they say it's not their problem. I've contacted CNET, but waiting for a response.....

Why would they block Sky's IP range????

I think someone elsewhere on the forum was saying that sky are using a new IP address range not used before and that some routers on the internet are not configured to route them, but that does not explain why my windows vm worked fine?
