      Re: VOIP Quality Issues

I have a very good Sky broadband connection and use hardwired VOIP (Sipgate) as a second line into my home. It works perfectly.

I also have various devices connected by WiFi. If I connect using my Netbook and a softphone via WiFi the quality can be very poor even though the other WiFi items work well.

It seems to be a combination of the WiFi and the power of my netbook computer (1.8 Ghz Atom, 2 GB RAM, 802.11g). If I connect the netbook by Cat5 cable the VOIP is perfect but Skype reports it slightly underpowered.

Cat5 cable connection seems the solution. In this mode I can make video calls without a problem using my laptop for Skype.

      Re: VOIP Quality Issues

Yay, the VOIP seems much better now....

I checked the router config and saw that Channel was set to Auto. Changed this to CH 11 and everything seems much better.

Thanks for all those that posted advice / info.
