      No, not yet, but have turned all electrical appliances in the vicinity off, and no change. Would electrical interference cause an internet drop out but Sky can still see a connected WAN. ? Thanks

      I'll let someone else answer your question about what REIN can actually cause, but if the issue is REIN, then the source can be very local or any where between you home and the telephone exchange.

      Thinking about it a little, it might pay you to speak with a neighbour or two as well. They may inadvertently help by mentioning whether or not they get similar issues.

      Thanks, didnt realise it could be anywhere from my house to the exchange. I will ask a few of the neighbours. Sky was supposed to phone me tonight between 6 and 7 but no joy.

      If you can, use a battery operated radio and tune it to 612khz MW.

      Then take the dog for a walk to the local exchange & back, to see if you can find the source locality.

      Try to follow the route that your telephone cable takes as this is not always a direct route.

      Re: Internet connection drop outs

      I've been with sky a few years myself and I've noticed over the last few weeks my connection is dropping out and going slowly.

      Its very intermittent so (working in IT myself) I know that makes it much harder to trace.

      I find it suspicious though that its been fine for years, then all of a sudden they release sky plus any time and bang goes my connection during peak times, especially when there is sod all on TV! and the best bit is, because I am on connect, I cant even try it myself!

      Some LLU services are likely to have suffered from:

      * Over subscription in selected areas
      * Anytime+

      The problem appears to be a constant drop in speed at particular times of the day.

      Your particular problems are related to the over subscription & poor investment in the Sky Connect product. This is a totally different issue to the OP's.

      Have you noticed any particular times that the dropouts occur?

      Such as the time that street lights or central heating would come on or off.

      Hi,

      My dropouts dont seem to coincide with anything, can be anytime of the day. This morning its going daft, has taken me 4 connection attempts to type this reply, the problem is that Sky dont seem to see all the dropouts, they can see a WAN uptime of say 7 hours but my internet could have dropped 5 or up to 40 times in that period.
