Well there is always the exception to the rule.

Personally I always though that when people are moved onto Sky's LLU equipment the wires at the telephone exchange would be altered so that they no longer went to the previous LLU provider.

      I guess you're different.

No 2 ISP's use exactly the same equipment, or even apply the same settings to their equipment.
Hence, no 2 ISP's will give exactly the same results.

BT and Talk Talk use the same equipment though (for their 8 meg and below package I mean). I switched over from Talk Talk to BT and BT was much better overall (talking about everage speeds through the day and late on at night). BT also faired better when it came to online gaming too.

Lots of people talk about slow speeds at soon as they play games online and I hear that some ISP systems get confused and think you're using torrents when you play games online.

Yeah, but if you're on an LLU service (Sky, o2, TalkTalk, etc) then that's the ISPs own equipment. the line still goes through BT as the phone line is still with them but it then routes to the ISPs gear to provide the Internet connection

BTW connections still go through BT's gear but the ISP has it's own settings applied to the line
