      It's the upstream I was on about, it's all of a sudden dropped half a meg - a reboot should get that back up - if not it's been capped

      What IWNTE is suggesting is that if you powered off the router for about 10 seconds & then powered it back on, you may get a better u/l speed for the rest of today.

      Also could you run a few tests on Speedtest.net and post the best of them? It might be nice to see the results.

      Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
      Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

      Did it actually resync during the night? If it didn't, it could be the signal that DLM is complete. Have a look at your broadband details in your MySky page. If it has, you will have to call up and get your upload increased. You will probably loose some of your download, but another 400kb on your upload would be worth more than a couple of Mb on your download.

      I did not check the logs this morning although MySky says;

      Your Connection Details

      Testing on your broadband connection began on 09/03/2011 and will be complete within 10 days.

      You may notice some variations in your broadband speed and this is normal. We are aiming to give you the best quality experience. Please leave your router on during this time.09/03/2011.

      Today;

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 23067 kbps 796 kbps
      Line Attenuation 3.0 dB 3.7 dB
      Noise Margin 6.9 dB 17.9 dB

      Yesterday;
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 23065 kbps 796 kbps
      Line Attenuation 3.0 dB 3.8 dB
      Noise Margin 6.9 dB 17.1 dB

      Re: New Sky installed just now

      It might be worth giving Sky a call and ask them if DLM training is complete. If it is, ask them to raise your upload speed, you still have plenty of noise margin in hand to allow this. If it is not finished, let it do it thing, it often does a better job than can be done manually.

      That should then lead to a lower (20Mbps) downstream unless the agent is too silly/turns a blind eye to it being too high

      Yes, I suppose what it comes down to, is a potential 50% increase in upload worth a 10% decrease in download? In my opinion it is and it would also make the line super stable.
