      It is the WAN, not LAN, MAC address that you need to spoof.

      If you post the full model details, we could have a look at the manual. It is also the WAN MAC address that you should be using to get your password and using in the log in details.

      I bet he has the "l" wrong.

      When I got mine extracted I could not tell what the "l" was so I pasted it into notepad then I printed it out and stuck it to my spare routers with a note saying "l = Lower case L"

      I also saved a copy to drive so I could just copy paste it all in so as not to make a mistake. Simples
