Please do not misunderstand me, but both my & Smithy99's first responses advised you that you cannot get better speeds on Connect. Eight posts later you are still convinced that you have the magic power to actually beat the system.

In January 2011 BSkyB announced that they have just over 3 million BB customers. 1.2 million on LLU (Sky BB Lite & Unlimited) and 2 million on Connect.

I have not seen anyone post saying that they have good speeds on Connect since I started taking an interest in this forum.

All the regular contributors, including some who work for Sky, would seem to agree with Smithy99 & myself: Move away from Connect, it can't be fixed.

I would love to be able to show that you can get better speeds, but unless 50% of the other Connect users all move, it ain't gonna happen.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

I wans't patronising you, I was trying to show you why you cannot and will not get better speeds out of Sky Connect, how am I to know what your technical ability is? I assumed it was pretty basic seen as though you have signed for a package without doing any research because if you had you woukdn't be here now. (was that patronising???)

Even if you lived next door to the telephone exchange and had a direct link to it you would still suffer exactly the same slowdowns as you are now because the problem isn't the connection, it is the lack of bandwidth.

Everything you do from here on in is just delaying things, you would be better to give your notice no and get your MAC code, at least then you can say that the service is so bad you haven't bee able to use it.

Just seen you're posted stats 2.5 meg. You're first posted suggested you were not getting anything higher than dial up speeds- If that was the case at all times then clearly there may have been a fault on the line. If you are getting 2.5 meg at peak times in the evening then it appears it could be the constraints on what is a very poor product.

On this product the only times speeds can be increased if there was a genuine issue with the phone line when DLM was active over the first 10 days and it may have set you at a lower speed.

From your posted stats there doesn't appear to be an issue apart from Connect BB. As smithey has suggested ask for your mac address and go elsewhere. The service isn't going to improve and you will continue to have the same issues. People are also throttled on BB connect so if you use the web frequently you are likely to experience this.

Test taken at 17:50; peak time :-)
Let's see how it is at that time tomorrow.

On this product the only times speeds can be increased if there was a genuine issue with the phone line when DLM was active over the first 10 days and it may have set you at a lower speed.
That is not the case with this type of connection. A BT line is constantly monitored by RAMBo** and the speed will increase or decrease according to the way the line is behaving. Unlike Sky's system which only seems to respond one way, downwards, when the line throws up some faults..

**RAMBo is the Rate Adaptive Management Box and is the key component in the Broadband Max product. It has two main components – Max and DLM and it monitors real-time and historic data from the DSLAMs in order to make each Broadband Max line as fast and as stable as possible
