      Re: Sky broadband setup problem

Well folks here's an update. I got a phone call this afternoon from someone on the Sky Executive team and they weren't too happy at the way my case had been handled. They have verified that I did indeed ask for my number to be changed and have apologised for the fact that this wasn’t done. He said that he could set this process in motion right away if I was still wanting it changed which I said I was. I asked him how long my service would be down for and he said you probably won’t even notice the changeover as it will happen probably during the night. He said it would take up to three days for this to be done and he would email me with my new phone number. When I asked him why I had been told that it could take a month and that I would be without my broadband and email for that time he said that this was totally wrong and that he was looking into it. I think they urgently need to retrain their advisors as this sort of thing could be losing them a lot of business. Thanks a lot to everyone who replied to my thread and especially to reddwarfcrew for the email address which seems to have finally sorted this matter out.

Glad to hear you got this sorted mate. When the advisor told you 30 days what they were suggesting was to cancel your current service (30 days notice) and then re-provide a new phoneline and BB service on a new telephone number which is where the 30 days came from although doing it this way would have taken at least 30 days notice and then 14 days for the new connection so they couldn't even get the wrong information right!!
