DLM can take as long as 72hrs to start.

Leave your router on 24/7 until it as completed.

Your speeds will normally start changing once DLM has kicked in and often your new top speed will be reached a few days later.

      I trust this helps.

      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Best to use the Sky router until DLM has completed too

      Re: New Unlimited Customer

I'm a new user too and my speed went up from 4Meg to about 10Meg 24hrs after the initial connection.

Once the DLM has completed, I plan on fitting a filtered faceplate to my master socket, mainly to tidy things up a bit. If this also improves the connection, will my speed automatically increase if I restart the router, or do I need to contact Sky?

It should do it itself but a call to Sky wouldn't hurt

If you intend to purchase a filtered faceplate, then personally I would obtain it as soon as I could. Most on-line suppliers would be able to get on to you within a couple of days.

It doesn't take too long to change the plate if you are confident with a screw driver.

      Re: New Unlimited Customer

Disconnecting for a few minutes will make no difference to DLM, so it would be better doing it as soon as possible. When DLM works properly it can do a better job than manual configuring.

      Re: New Unlimited Customer

I'm a bit confused now. DLM has finished after just 5 days apparently:

Line connection testing completed on 20/02/2011
      Download Speed
Your connection has been set to a download speed of up to 10.0Mb (10240Kb)
      Upload Speed
Your connection has been set to an upload speed of up to 1.2Mb (1216Kb)

      These are the router stats:

ADSL Link ------------ Downstream ------ Upstream
      Connection Speed - 10237 kbps -------- 921 kbps
      Line Attenuation ----- 32.0db ------------- 18.1db
      Noise Margin --------- 10.7db -------------- 8.0db

      Shouldn't I be getting a higher speed?

(The filtered faceplate hasn't arrived yet BTW.)

      Re: New Unlimited Customer

Sadly it is unusual to get more than 1Mb upload. The stat can often show more than 1000kbps though.

Did you ever get around to fitting the filtered faceplate?

Personally I would encourage you to do this before you do any other work to improve your connection.
