Those figures are still really poor.

I'd suggest plugging just the filter & your router into your test socket and posting your stats.

If you don't see any changes, a polite call to CST might help get things changed.

      Re: Micrifilters?

I can see what's going on here...

      1. You're on Connect, BUT;
      2. You're on the wrong product. You should be on ADSL Max (up to 8Mbps) but you've been provisioned on Home/Office 500 which is a fixed 500kbps speed

I'd call Sky and confirm the package you're on as if you ARE on Unlimited (LLU) then CST should sort it in a matter of minutes. UNLESS you're completely uncapped and it's something your end holding it back

I'm leaning more to being on Connect

      Re: Micrifilters?

thanks for that suggestion Scubie, might give that a go.

Also, thank you IWasNotTheEnemy - you can tell all that from those numbers and letters?! You're good lol

I called them last night and they said they were going to try upgrade me to Unlimited again, as I seem to still have Connect. I got a text message this morning telling me that 'Your Sky Unlimited will be activated on 16/02/2011'.

So, how will I know if this has been activated or not? Apart from the obvious speed increasing, are there any other things I can look at to see if I am actually on Unlimited? Like the ADSL and LLU setting you mentioned.

My Sky TV Menu, services area tells me that I am on Sky U limited. However It said this last week also...

      Thanks!

Once ported it will start at a speed of 4Mbps down and around 600kbps up

This was the case for me 2-3 days ago when I went live

Upstream rate = 605 Kbps, Downstream rate = 4095 Kbps

From reading around this seems to be the normal starting point.

How long have you been on Connect? This looks like another case of BT messing up a Sky connection.

      Re: Micrifilters?

i've been on connect for well over 2yrs.

So, should I keep an eye on my router settings? They gyu on the phone said It could take 10days somehow? I thought it was just a matter of a technicial swithching a cable? Anyway!

So, my router settings should change a lot then, i'll keep an eye on the Upstream and Downstream.
So just to clarify, my speeds should go from approx Down 576 kbps / Up 288 kbps to Down 4Mbps / Up 600kbps ?

      Thanks

      Re: Micrifilters?

Yep, and be usable in peak hours!

Once you're on Unlimited you then have a 10 day training period - you should end up around 20Mbps

      Re: Micrifilters?

thanks a lot for the help,

so, realistically I wont notice a change for up to 10 days? They said it would be activated today, but I wont notice it's full potential until the 27th feb?

      thanks

      Re: Micrifilters?

You should get an jump within a few days of going live but it can take up to 10 days to get full speed. Some get in on the first day
