It is the noise margins you have to keep your eye on, you are capped so the speed will not rise. If your noise margin stays up around 8-9dbs, or above, it may be worth asking them for an increase.

      Re: internet drop out

what noise levels should i be looking at
also ive had sync speeds around 6500 for a long time
although some downloads and ive just done some now, (the broadband test files,) much better than speed testers, are kicking in aroun 20-30mb a sec. then start to drop. but thats then put 30mb straight in. so the line can handle big speeds (cant it)

      4093 460
      46db 28.5db
      8.9db 7.1db

These are the noise figure you should be looking at. At the moment you are 2 dbs above the default so in theory you could get 500-600kbps more, but Sky may be unwilling to give you this as it may make your line unstable.

With your present sync speed you should have a data transfer rate of around 0.44MB/s. If you were getting a 20Mb transfer rate you would be able to download a 100Mb file in 5 seconds, I have to doubt you are getting that.

If you are using Vista/Win 7 the easiest way is to 'Snip' it and upload the image.
