      3 Months of hell. Sky Broad band Slow Speed

      Hi all, I've had everyday lite broadband through a phone line in my flat for 3 months and it's shockingly slow.

      Run a few tests, so hopefully someone can help me further.

      You're capped, probably from DLM seeing something on the line it didn't like. So long as setup is fine you end (in the master socket, no extensions in use, etc) then just call Sky and they can up it. Should get about 6-8Mbps(ish)

      Set up fine my end, as I take laptop to my sisters flat blocks down and her SKy Wifi is acceptable.

      Also use a 3G connection via Nokia modem and it seems faster.

      If everything looks OK with test socket, I'll call Sky and let you know how I get on

      Brilliant,

      Phone Sky, checked my details and said "You're showing as not active as a broadband user"

      I switched from Virgin ADSL to Sky to keep my package in one place. They sent me a router etc and they said they're not sure why but I show as being cancelled.

      The plot thickens.

      Sky say they cancelled the broadband when the phone line was cancelled (my old virgin one)

      But somehow I'm still getting internet through, but I've not been paying for it!!

      My options

      Stay as I am and have free broadband through whoever is it, I'm not paying a penny, or call sky back and activate line rental for 11 and Broadband for 5 and get better speeds

      Seriously, WTF has gone on here.

      Sky said there is NO BT line or broadband service from them in this flat. Yet I can connect to the internet through the phone socket.

      Is there a chance Virgin have left the line activated? And not billed me?

      I thought Virgin used a BT line, and SKy are saying there is NOT a BT line installed.

      What do I do guys?

      By the sound of things the order has been regected. Often get customers who put up with slow connections for months only to find out that the line wasn't completed.
      You need to speak to New Line Provide which is provitioning if you get a thick **** who doesn't know who that it. The Phone and BB will need to be reordered. Also get them to find out if there are any tags on the line which are stopping the line going through. What ever you do, please speak to provitioning, not sales cause they are useless. Been cleaning a few too many messes up recently. Also they can't stop the set-up fees.

      It's possible that the phone is still with Virgin. Dial 150 on the phone and if it takes you to virgin, then it's with virgin. You'll need to call them to cancel it.
