Apart from installing an NTE5 socket there is not much you can do except disconnect the ring wire. This is the wire connected to terminal 3 on the back of the master faceplate. It is not required with modern phones and can cause interference with broadband.

When you have done that, call Sky and ask them to configure your line manually. If there is a problem it will show up when they configure it.
