Re: Just been connected to sky LLU

DLM will kick in sometime overnight over the next few nights. It will then typically run for the next 10-14 days.

It is important to leave your router switched on & connected during this period.

Also, as tempting as it might be to use your old ones, it might be a good opportunity to change your Micro-Filter/s. They can and do wear out/go faulty over a period of time.

Whilst Sky's filters can be hit or miss, Filtered Faceplates offer a better solution as they tend to use better components.

If there are no problems with your line you should get 14-16Mb.

Re: Just been connected to sky LLU

Check the status message in your Sky on-line account to see if it mentions anything about DLM working.

It certainly hasn't kicked in yet.

I would then be tempted to call Sky and ask them if anything is showing their end if DLM doesn't show as activated on your account.

Re: Just been connected to sky LLU

Just called them and they put it up to 8mb. They said it will take up to 10 days to reach the maximum.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7999 kbps 767 kbps
      Line Attenuation 24.5db 13.5db
      Noise Margin 15.9db 17.1db

Just give me the max now ?

Re: Just been connected to sky LLU

      That's a nice improvement.

Was any reason given as to why DLM hadn't kicked in?

Also for ref, once DLM kicks in, many people seem to get near to their max speed after 3 or 4 days.

Re: Just been connected to sky LLU

The DLM system apparently had a few issues on some lines in regards to starting PO (profile optimisation) over the past day(s), but I think it should be sorted now.

OP, you can get a lot more, assuming the advisor has resumed DLM and requested another PO. If not, then you're going to be stuck at 8mbps unless DLM decides to automatically jump in.

Re: Just been connected to sky LLU

I've just moved to Sky from O2 and was a bit disappointed in the speeds I'm seeing on Speedtest.net. With O2 it was usually a 5-6 Mbps download, with Sky I'm only hitting about 3.5. I've only got a master socket in the house with no extensions to worry about. Router stats are:

      ADSL Link: Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed: 4093 kbps 605 kbps
Line Attenuation: 44.0 db 17.7 db
Noise Margin: 7.9 db 16.8 db

I've been connected since the 01/03, but the account isn't showing up as having line testing performed, I called up yesterday to complain and was told the testing should start within 24hrs. With those sort of line noise and attenuation levels should I be expecting to see any improvement when they do get around to checking the line?
