Thx Exdee, unfortunately I had emergency at work and had to call the engineer off. Will try to get one for tomorrow or monday. Obviously the person I spoke to forgot to tell the engineer and he turned up just as I was leaving, lol

RUNIT, Ive never had anything to do with telecoms really but now even I can tell this wiring has been tampered with on many occasions, that's why I'm worried about being charged because its in my name now. This is a flatshare so god only knows who and when did what to it. And yes, i have the NTE5 in my room but the cable is just tied in a roll and not connected to anything, I suspect that someone occupying this room before me had their own line at some point. My landlady doesn't want to know, I'm in a right pickle now :/

If the phone has just been enabled in your name, I don't think you need worry about being charged. BTO should fix your line as far as the master socket and will disconnect anything past that unless you agree to paying them to fix it.

      What is your upload profile?

Could you now be on Connect and not unlimited?

Thx Isitme, its kinda encouraging and i think the same , unfortunately common sense is rarely a practice these days. But I guess I have no choice really other than find out.

Brit, I'm pretty sure I'm not on connect, sky are apparently working on the problem and at the moment looks like I'm capped at 8000/256kbit but had 800k upstream too at some point and I think 448k is max on connect?
