Just to clarify, I have told Sky the faults occur when no phone is connected to the filter. Surely this means the phone can't be the issue? Or am I missing something?
This is the point I'm making. You maybe only want to chase the bb fault up, but the fact is if you're getting audible noise with NO equipment bar a corded phone into the test socket, then it's a PSTN issue, not an ADSL issue. Once the voice fault is resolved, the bb drop-outs should also be resolved.

As above, you need to contact Sky Talk (SVBN). They'll test the line and log it to Openreach. Why Sky didn't pick this up as a voice fault from the outset is beyond me.

If you've only called BB support why would they?...

The OP would have been transferred through to tier 1 SVBN and SVBN CST, both of which are trained in both telephony and bb troubleshooting. Whether it was a telephony or bb fault should have been the first thing ascertained - or at least it's what I'd do. Either way, it should have been picked up.

I phoned skytalk and got straight through to customer solutions, apparently they're getting BT to send an engineer to check out the junction box/stuff and if that doesn't work they'll send an engineer to the house. Hopefully that will get it sorted.

Not very impressed with the customer service tbh. The first time I phoned skytalk the guy did a line test which cut off the call, so I had to ring back, uggh. Btw thanks for your replies guys.
