      UK Online: online billing problems with skyID

      I have recently joined Sky broadband, after moving from UK Online.
      UK Online were taken over by Sky, and closed down last week.

      The b/band service is exactly the same. My problem is that I cannot access my bill online at mysky.sky.com.

      * I have a skyID and can log on to the Sky portal.
      * To view bills online, you must verify your skyID.
      * When I try to verify my skyID, I get a "There was an unexpected error" message (very helpful).

      I need to access online billing, because I need to check that I am getting the free 6 months offer for UK Online customers. Also, paper bills cost 4 pounds each!

      Any UK Online customers had problems?

      The paper bills only cost 4.00 each if you are set up to pay by paper invoice, If you pay by d/d or contionus card payment then you can have a paper bill. You can have your password re-set by calling sky or you can view your bills through the TV. Press interactive, then my sky account and theirs a section for view my bill. Sky box needs to be connected to the phone line to do this.

      Will Sky ID work if I don't have a Sky TV account? It may be that's my problem.

      As far as I know yes because it's a "customer" log in zone to manage their accounts. As sky offer a range of products you should be able to log in. In fact you must be able as people who just subscribe to sky player and don't have TV have to log in to view programmes. If you call sky customer service 08442 414141 and asked to be transffered to the sky.com team they have a dedicated team who deal with username and password issue they will re-set your details there and then. Hope this helps.

      Strange, I hadn't had a chance to phone Sky about this problem when an email turned up tonight saying my Sky ID was successfully approved even though I registered and validated the email sent to me at the time on December 30th. Maybe it just takes a long, long time and I should have been more patient.
