      Can my upload increase?

      I was just wondering if my upload speed can increase because it always syncs at 864kbps but here are my settings:

      Download = 5056kbps
      Upload = 864kbps
      Noise Margin down/up = 7.3/9.0 db
      Output power down/up = 12.3/19.5 dbm
      Atennuation down/up = 42.0/25.0 db

      Can my upload speed margin be decreased to see improved upload but ive noticed it always syncs at 864 like its been capped but ive saw the download go to 5500kbps before. When i do a speed test, it varies from 0.66mbps to 0.72mbps, could they set the upload to 864 when it actually isnt or?
      Thanks lewis

      Re: Can my upload increase?

      In theory your upload can be increased as your upload noise margin is 9.0db, however as your download is at around 5000kbps with a 42db noise margin - this could point to some instability in your connection; for example, I too have a 42db downstream noise margin and sync at 6880kbps and 1024kbps upload set at 7db noise margin - this is also with max delays set to 8ms. You could also have been put onto ADSL2+, whereas G.dmt could be more stable and produce a higher sync and more stable connection.

      You could do far worse that post up some router stats for everyone to see, as at the moment this is all just guess work!

      You could look to improve your connection as you may be generating errors hence the lower syncing - however if your line is as sweet as it can be, a call to SKY CST could see an increase in your upstream sync

      Right now? - who knows! = Your line may not be stable enough to push any more through it!

      You need to post some stats from your router up to see, and tehn again from the test socket (if you have one) to see if you have an internal wiring issue that is holding you back at the moment.

      If you manage to clean up your line you should be able to get roughly the same as i do on the downstream and possibly as much as 1100 on the upstream - IF you can clean your line up!

      i dont get it, my speed and such is always the same if not a tiny but more on the test socket .. , its never been over 6000, apart from when i was on talktalk and they had to change the profile because it kept disconnecting..:/

      Re: Can my upload increase?

      phoned sky, new settings:

      Download = 5477kbps
      Upload = 969kbps
      Noise Margin down/up = 7.4/9.2 db
      Output power down/up = 12.4/18.5 dbm
      Atennuation down/up = 44.0/25.2 db

      I still think i can get more out of it though! , but guess i should just be greatful, and bad thing is, my max delays are back at 32!

      You have also been put on ADSL2+. Call them and tell them you want your delay reduced, this would have been reset to default with the change of mode.

      Depending on how persuasive you are - there's still more to be had from your upload too!
