Leaving Sky Talk & Sky Broadband

I have been with Sky Talk and Sky Broadband for almost a year and currently get the broadband for a discounted 10 a month as opposed to 17 due to a bit of haggling at the time. However, when our first year is up i' believe it'll go up to 17, which i don't really want to pay as i'm sure it's cheaper with other ISPs.

My question is, if Sky aren't willing to keep that discounted rate, how easy is it to switch to a different ISP? I'm guessing i would need to also cancel the Sky Talk phone line and go back to BT before another Internet Provider could take over the line? Is this an easy enough process??

Also, any recommendations of ISPs would be appreciated.

      Cheers

Hi have you had a look at SamKnows - Broadband Availability - Amesbury (STAMSBY) Exchange as your exchange has Sky LLU. Have you tried to upgrade your Sky Broadband package.

@RJM: Sounds like a bit of a struggle doesn't it. Surely though i can just ring Sky and tell them to disconnect my line, then when that's done call BT and say i want a phone line? Can't be that hard can it?

@steve16751: Yeah i've had a look at that site. I'm not particularly interested in upgrading the Sky BB package to be honest, as i would assume that'll cost me more, i really want the cheapest BB i can get (as long as it's half decent anyway).

Hi I hope it goes well. I upgraded from the connect package in November to Unlimited and the Broadband is excellent and since upgrading I have had no issues at all.

That's good then - in what way would you say it's better than Connect?
