Question Considering move from o2 BB to sky unlimited BB

      Hello,

Im currently on an o2 legacy package, similar to the all rounder but no caps. Considering moving over to sky unlimited. My router stats are as follows:

If there are people whom have moved from o2 to sky, are you getting roughly the same speed as you were on o2?
The service has been great from o2, solid, stable line and speeds, although last year Q4 noticed a meg loss in sync speed. Also i no longer benefit from the o2 mobile discount hence change over.

Can i expect similar if not the same speeds on sky unlimited? (yes its available in my area)

Info from samknows (telephone no & postcode search):

      BT ADSL broadband availability
You are connected to the Long Eaton telephone exchange.
ADSL is available in your area

Your exchange is also enabled for ADSL Max services
Your exchange is also enabled for ADSL2+ services
According to BT Wholesale, your phone line should be able to support
      up to 1Mbps via ADSL
3.5Mbps or greater ADSL connection via ADSL Max
      4Mbps or greater via ADSL2+

      Standard ADSL RAG results
      You cannot receive 2Mbps ADSL
You may be able to receive 1Mbps ADSL
      You can receive 512kbps ADSL
      You can receive 256kbps ADSL

"However, there is another service on your phone line (e.g. ADSL, LLU, DACS, etc) that would prevent you from ordering a new ADSL connection."

What does the above in quotation marks mean?

I get the same info on samknows using house no & postcode except this:

"You are approximately 2.13km from the exchange. Note that this is the straight line distance - the actual cable length will be longer!"

Also is it worth me paying my line rental to sky being as though its cheaper than paying BT? Im on the Sky Talk Unlimited already ~2.25 years

      Regards

You're missing the obvious part on that Samknows page - the box on the right with the green ticks. Those ticked have their own gear in the exchange - O2 being one, Sky being another - so you'll be on their gear and should get similar speeds. Upstream probably won't be as good, mind
