If you can post your stats, it will help people to see what you're getting.

For the first few days, your BB speed will be below par. As the testing progresses, your line speed will increase. You can check the progress by signing into you Sky account on the sky website.

In the mean time, take a look at the section of this forum that can help you to improve your speeds.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

You are on the Sky Connect paxkage which is the worst broadband package in the country and you should leave as quickly as you can.

      Get your MAC and go.

      Re: New to Sky broadband!!

It looks as if your line should be capable of greater speed, but if as you state the maximum in your area is 8Mb, then that is what you'll get.

Take a look at this link and put in your figures.

With regards to the comment about you being on sky connect, rather than Sky Unlimited, it is worth checking your local telephone exchange. If Sky does not have a LLU installed, then they rent bandwidth from BT. The product they sell with this is Sky Connect.

To find this out, try looking on the SamKnows website and type in your postcode. You'll soon get an answer.

Ideally I believe you want to ensure that your exchange in 21CN enabled (ADSL2+ capable), with Sky having an LLU presence. If Sky isn't present, check that the exchange is either 'Market 2' or 'Market 3'. Then ask Sky's CST when they are likely to be installing their equipment in the exchange.

      Oh phooey!!

You'll be experiencing an issue with being throttled back during peek times. You've got a 40Gb p/month download limit. If you exceed it in one week, the following is restricted.

      See Here for more info.
