I'll take a look at it.... thinik i need a bandwith monitor really though to see how much my daily routine chews up (vices like the Chris Moyles show on Iplayer set to low bandwidth etc need testing).

Joy of joys i'm 17 mins into my 123kps hell. 3 mins to refresh this page, 5 mins to check my email and no real surprise my MAC code hasn't arrived yet either. I'll tether my Iphone to internet use with the GPRS signal i get at my place and see how it compares to a throttled Sky Connect account i think!

Bandwith monitors still a welcome suggestion in the meantime (not that i can download one until Midnight of course!).

      Hi,

The way comnnect goes and the traffic management policy is that you have a monthly usage of 40gb but this is broken down on a weekly basis so once you hit usage of 9GB each week the line will then be throttled. SKy CST do have access to certain criteria and I beleive they can see if your "the top percentage" of usage for connect customers.

How To Deal With Tier 1.
Advise them you have a slow connection at certain times in the day. Tell them you have been in the test socket, used a diff Micro filtert etc etc. Advise them you are aware of traffic management on connect but slow speeds occur during the day (A lie i know but needs must and all that) ask then if they will raise a ticket and transfer you through to CST. Tier 1 should then transfer you. They can't do much for you and don't have knowledge or the site of much information on connect. Once speaking to CST they can check if you are being throttled or not because of you usage (clearly are but they can at least confirm this for you). They will be honest with you about this and who knows you might not be. What speeds are you going down to at this point in the evening?
