      My connection keeps dropping

I get 16mb from Sky, but every 20 seconds or so (not specifically) the connection drops to around 0.01mb or something stupid for about 3 seconds and then goes back to normal. It's really annoying because it makes me drop out of Skype calls or online matches on XBOX Live. I've rung Sky and they don't know why. Anybody got any ideas please?

Sometimes it's significantly more or less frequent

      EDIT

And it happens with any device I connect

If you are using wireless then try a wire, you could also change the router channel number (start at 13 and work down).

Tried both but neither made a difference, thanks anyway.

In which case, start the PC in safe mode and do a scan for any nasties, does the Xbox have a problem with the connection if nothing else is connected to the router?

did you just speak to tier 1 at sky or cst? They will look into this for you. I suspect that the line may not be capable of 16 meg thereofre keeps dropping out. Strip back to basics just the router and mf into your test socket and see what happens there. If the issue still persists call sky whilst still in the test socket and they can have a look at this for. They may need to re-profile the line for you, suggest they drop you to say max of 8 meg and test it from there and go up a bit more etc until you hit the right speed the line is capable of

It's unaffected by the quantity of connections.

Could you tell me what cst is? And also, what is mf?

I thought the problem was with the router or perhaps the master socket, both of which I had started looking into replacing, but I will certainly try this first.
