re: Sky Unlimited Broadband gone slow in the last few days

Well the guys in T2 don't have any information to offer on a wider problem and they've literally admitted there isn't anything more they can do for me. They've reconfigured my line for the 5th or 6th time this week and told me to give it 24 hours.

I asked to be put through to CST but they said there isn't anything more they can do about 'my' connection issue. Apparently the guys in CST have only had a months extra experience than those in T2. Not sure how true that is?

Anyway they've advised me that if the issues remain tomorrow night then I can speak to CST who will hopefully be able to confirm one way or the other what's going on before I have to break my contract and go else where. I don't mind if there is a wider issue which may take a while to fix, I just want to hear it from the horses mouth and be able to get the odd update on progress. Doesn't sound like im asking too much?

That is absolute balls, I was in CST for 3 years and there are guys there longer than I was!!!

There isn't T2 any more anyway, there's T1 and CST

      Don't shoot the messenger!

The girl I was speaking to was from the 'Broadband Technical Support Team', she definitely said the guys in CST only have a months more experience than them. Did sound fishy to be fair which is why I asked to be put through to them regardless, no dice though.

      Maybe im being too nice!

How it used to work when I was still there was you go to T1, they go through their scripts and if they can't sort it out they transfer you to CST. Then we take ownership of the cases.

Now it seems they make the ticket and advise you'll get a call back in 72hrs (which is unlikely as if they can't transfer them I imagine CST are too busy to take the calls due to having other cases to work on)

It all got a bit silly before I left

re: Sky Unlimited Broadband gone slow in the last few days

Got through to CST today and they confirmed the evening ping issue.

The guy I spoke to said he was just reading a dept e-mail from the previous evening informing them that there was an issue with exchanges in certain areas. There were three exchange prefixes mentioned including WN (sorry didn't catch the others). No eta to a fix though.

Sky have now updated the broadband status page on their website confirming that there is a widespread problem caused by an increase in subscribers and not enough equipment ordered to cope! It will be fixed as soon as possible

Yes it did. And another thing, the system (the switchover) that makes torrent programs unusable makes my online gaming laggy as hell. ISP's "You're uploading a lot so I'm just gunna assume you're sharing copyrighted material"

People complain about slow speeds in online games, that's half the problem right there.

re: Sky Unlimited Broadband gone slow in the last few days

Yea look at the area's affected and the number of exchanges in each area, it could hardly be called a minor problem, not been able to use my xbox live service in the evening since Christmas, hardly minor.
