      My broadband has been slow as hell ever since i signed up to Sky, i have never once had a higher sync speed than 5019kbps (4.5mb), i refuse to call Sky because its not a cheap number to call, AND i never get put through to somebody who actually sorts my issue and does what i tell them to do.

      Anyone know of any numbers that are free to call Sky on?

      I just wanted to add the last 2 days i have had terrible online speed on my sky unlimited connection. Measured through my PS3 it's in the 1mbps and 2mbps ( normally 8 or 9mbps and half the normal upload speed). It ruined my weekend of online gaming. Late at night it seems to work better. Can sky limit the PS3 connection to the internet, and would they if they could? Or maybe it's just the whole sky connection that has gone wrong?
      Anyway seems like other people are having the same problem, coincidence?

      Sky could limit your connection however, iv never heard of them limiting unless you were on a really basic package with a download limit and went well over their limit.

      Some people do find that after peak hours their connections seem quicker and more stable, due to Sky's Exchanges being hammered from around 9am-7pm, iv never had this problem myself though.

      The only issues i have with Sky are that it costs a bomb to call them when i have problems, and since iv joined sky (around 9 months ago) iv never had even 1/4 of the speeds im paying for (constantly on 4.5mb).

      If you have Sky Talk the calls are free.

      You are not getting a quarter of the speed you are paying for, you are getting exactly what you signed up for an UPTO 20mb package, you are currently getting just that.

      Post your router stats from the current position and the TEST socket to see if you can get any more.

      My connection speed will be the same on a master socket, the test is pointless, its upto Sky to remove my limiter.

      What is the number for the tech support? if its free like you said i will call them.

      if you post your stats as requested earlier, then the people on here can tell you if you are getting the most out of your line, so the test is not pointless.

      you need to post your line attenuation and snr's.

      the test from the test socket has a very good purpose as it rules out any internal wiring issues, and isolates any existing equipment that is plugged in somewhere in the house.

      If you phone sky they will ask you to perform this test anyway.

      There's no 'limiter' - if you other threads you'll see North Wales/North West are affected by an uplink issue

      So your saying they have had an "uplink issue" for the past 9 months? lmfao please... i know sky have limited my connection because they told me like 9 months ago, they told me that my line can only output 5mb, which i know is BS because i was getting 8-10meg from AOL, who i was with before Sky.

      You're not getting a 'quarter' of the speed you should have. You'll maybe get a few mbps more as it stands and that's as much as the line will handle.

      Iv just done the test, the only thing that was different was:

      DS Line Attenuation 41
      US Line Attenuation 16
      US Margin 13
      DS Margin 9
