For some reason it is ridiciously slow this evening. Don't think the results below are true representation as my router believes it is connected at 9215Kbps at the moment.

There must be something going on in the Sky cloud as some sites are ok while others are really slow. Not gettting the same long ping responses to BBC that some people are seeing.

Broadband has already been flaky this week, but is really quite bad tonight. Struggling to access quite a few sites too. This is in Tynemouth.

Has been slowly getting better as the evening goes on. Wonder if this could be a failure of a DNS node in Sky's network as some sites are ok while others are really slow.

Dude I'm not stupid, I know it is Sky. I stopped using Rapidshare because my downloads would 'stop-start' until I found out that Rapidshare ceated a newish site along with the old one and, surprise sirprise, downloads don't 'stop-start' on their relatively new site. And to think I use to blame Rapishare

      You
      Are
      On
      Connect
      Which
      Is
      Why
      You
      Can't
      Use
      Your

Can't you just accpet that? I'm on o2 and get the same 'no free slots' on RS that people on Sky do so that just rulled out your theory. I just use MegaUpload or SendSpace as these are superior services anyway

Connect has got nothing to do with it (nothing to do with what I'm saying). I'm saying ISP's throttle popular download sites but they don't tell you this on their terms. I'm saying they throttle torrents and popular download sites like Rapidshare.

      Ah OK, apologies then

It's just them trying to cut down on piracy so you can't really blame them

re: Sky Unlimited Broadband gone slow in the last few days

South East England here, for approx the last week I have had poor ping times at peak times.

Off peak I get on average 68 to bbc or jolt
Peak times >200, tonight it was touching 300.

Phone customer support and they insisted its not them and that it must be somthing on my PC causing it! Basically fobbing me off..

      I have after a few manual re-connections had a different 1st hop

ping ~270 on dr0.enhmi.isp.sky.com also a little packet loss
      ping ~150 on dr2.enhmi.isp.sky.com
