Ever thought it could be a random thing? Example: There's a server error at Sky so they slow 'some' users down until it sorts itself out (or Sky sort it out). No need to slow everybody down. The timing seems a bit suspicious though

And why does 'everyone' have to be included all the time? You should know that each connection is unique

Why would Sky target one user? Your argument doesn't make sense. Traffic shaping, if used, is across the whole user base - not on a connection by connection basis.

The other possibility is an exchange backhaul issue but Sky would need to have calls from multiple customers on the same exchange/card to warrant an investigation

Who said only one user? My argument doesn't make sense? To slow 'some' users down because there is no need to slow everybody down doesn't make any sense? An automated and random system that, if needed, slows some users down to maintain stability? That doesn't make any sense?

One user in the sense of the OP...

Other than that your come back made no sense as it was random questions...how about a structured answer that backs up what you're saying?

I was saying that this won't be a traffic shaping issue as Sky don't do that on Unlimited (or any LLU service) so it's either something the OPs end OR an exchange issue which would need more than one user complaining to be looked into by Sky

What? Should I have to back up what I say? You really think these 'companies' play by the book all the time? Companies will do anything to make/save money pal. I've got nothing against Sky. It's only obvious these companies are going to slow you down and put the blame on your end. I'm just saying it's not what those companies say it is all the time, it's not always your end all the time. Heck, these companies make money everytime you phone them with a problem

Edit: See that number you phone whenever you have a problem, that number is big business itself

Yep, and that's your choice to call. If you don't wanna pay to contact Sky then leave. There's nothing stopping you!

If you're on SkyTalk Unlimited then call is free so you don't even have to worry about it

And yes you should back up your claims. You spout off in random threads that Sky traffic shape ALL their broadband packages when it's on Connect that is hit (which is your package, unfortunately) and when someone asks you to back up what you say you can't. You're just talking a load of rubbish! At least I try and back up my claims with resasonable explanations and having worked in CST for 3 years I know what Sky do and don't do (although not the last years worth since I left)

      Re: Slow speeds Broadband Unlimited

There are many "Unlimited (LLU)" users having this issue including myself, only happens during peak times 7 - 11 pm. My speed halves and my ping rises to 300ms.

Twice i have contacted sky and twice they have said it shouldnt happen on LLU and twice changed my profile = same issue.

There is a thread over at the official sky help forums about this but as expected no help from sky.

We are being "Throttled" at peak times, I dont know why or for how long but its definatly happening to a lot of people.
