    Broadband download speed

      Broadband download speed

      I have contacted Sky today because my broadband speed has dropped loads, when I download now the max speed I hit is 0.84Mbps which I think is very low, Sky have tested my line and say they have test the line and their getting 3.60Mbps .........................How come mine is so slow ? ( Which i can see in downloads and webpages) any information or help would be great .

      First post your router stats:- How to get your router statistics

      and hrom here:- How to test your ADSL in the Master Test Socket

      Also, if using wireless, try a wire.

      Your router is only synced to 1Mb but also it has only been synced 2 hours? Have you been rebooting the router or turning it off? You have more speed on the line but if you are turning the router off the system will think your line is unstable and slow your sync down.

      Not turned off, sometimes it disconnects from the net all light except power go off router then it comes back on and all is fine again, does it maybe 8/10 times a day ?
