      Re: EXTREMELY slow internet connection.

You have a huge internal wiring issue. From the test socket, if you call Sky on 08442410515 then they can uncap from 768/800. However, if you put the faceplate back on without addressing the issue, then the speed will drop again. You're best purchasing a filtered faceplate, fitting it and connecting the router to this and you should be sorted.

If you fit and use a filtered faceplate as suggested, you have the potential to get a 16Mb+ speed. Your internet experience will improve beyond belief.

Two screws to remove from the existing faceplate. Two new screws supplied with new faceplate.

      Remove existing screws
Remove old faceplate, keeping it square with the master socket
Fit new faceplate, keeping it square with the master socket
      Screw in new screws

      Most people can cope.

Not quite that easy, you will have to remove the extension cables from the existing faceplate and reattach them to the new one in the same places (there should be 3). Order a disposable IDC Punch down tool to do this with. The ADSLnation site is down at the moment so I can't link to it.
As for the current adapters you will no longer need the filters.

The adapter simply plugs into the phone side of the faceplate and the router into the ADSL port. You do not need filters on any other sockets.
