      MAC code problems

I cancelled my Sky TV & Broadband package and was issued a MAC code.

I gave this to ZEN internet and due to them screwing up they cancelled the order thus leaving the MAC code 'unusable'.

Sky say that they can't issue another MAC code as the one they gave me is still valid but ZEN say they can't use it again as BT have said it's already been used so I need another.

Sky say that because I've cancelled my broadband then when the MAC code runs out I won't get another one and the new provider will have to reconnect the line!

      I'm at my wits' end!

Do I cancel the cancelation and pay for another month of broadband from sky so that I can then get a MAC code?

ZEN say that they'd have to charge 40 to connect the line but the broadband is only 17 for the month.

Why do I have to pay for other peoples mistakes? This is becoming the norm in England it seems.

You should have only requested a MAC code and let the new provider deal with the broadband cancellation with Sky because then a new code can be issued if things go wrong.

I'm assuming you had Sky Talk and line rental with Sky, if so your line is now disconnected and there will be a charge to reconnect the line wherever you go.
