Are Sky slowing my connection down?

Hello, for the last 3 months our connection has been rubbish in the evenings
We have sky unlimited. Youtube used to stream instantly and now stutters on even the lowest quality footage, Iplayer has become near useless same goes for any type of streaming video, Downloads from itunes have became painfully slow too.
With 3 kids we are probably heavy users but Im considering leaving sky and have come to the conclusion you get what you pay for.

The sync speed is constant , I have tried another router what should I try next ?
Had to phone up sky last year with bb problems and had a frustrating time and quite reluctant to call them but have little choice now.

Any advice how to sort this out will be appreciated.

Stats and a physical setup explanation will help.

You shouldn't be buffering or struggling with that speed. Are you using wireless? If on ethernet I would try booting to safe mode and see if the issue is still there.

Re: Are Sky slowing my connection down?

We use wireless on two macs, and also ps3 and xbox 360, not all at the same time though. Its the same wired
One rooms one computer and the games consoles are around 6m from the router and the living room is around 3m away.

I believe I can sync higher but gave up with sky trying to get them to re sync me. Had a builder in who was unplug router when we had the 10 day test thing.

Noise margin raises to around 12db during the day

Any of them into torrents or P2P? These can kill the connection for other users if not throttled. I suspect this may be your problem.
